Good Samaritan Community Services Each year St. David's reaches out to Good Samaritan Community Services in San Antonio in a variety of ways. Our Hunger Wall groceries are taken to Good Samaritan Center every other month with many hundreds of items donated each year. All funds raised through Lenten Bread Sales are sent to Good Samaritan for the after school program for the children. St. David's participates in the back to school program for the children of Good Samaritan Community Services by providing boxes of crayons, bottles of glue, glue sticks, pens, pencils and rulers. Our Youth Groups helped man the Halloween carnival at the Good Samaritan Center. We have an Angel Tree at Christmas to collect one clothing gift and one toy for 25 children who might otherwise not receive gifts. In addition, we collect Christmas dinner food bags for families of Good Samaritan Center. For information about Good Samaritan Community Services see Jacki Bucci, St. David's representative.

SAMMinistry Since 1983 San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries has operated as an interfaith ministry to help the homeless and/or others at risk by offering shelter, housing and services. Those people who use the Shelter as overnight guests are typically transients or chronically homeless who spend their time on the street. The Shelter is staffed daily with a church volunteer team who has a set night every month to assist in the registration process for "overnighters". The St. David's team volunteers the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Our team is always in need of volunteers both men and women, for more information about this ministry contact the church office.
