We come together to worship God on Sundays and many other days. This is at the heart of Christian life. On a regular Sunday, it takes about 40 people to see that our worship services flow smoothly and joyfully. There are many opportunities for participation in the worship service.
Acolytes assist in worship by carrying a processional torch, lighting candles, holding the Gospel book, and assisting the priest during communion at the altar. Training is provided.
Altar Guild prepares everything necessary for the holy Eucharist. Teams are on call only about one time a month and training is provided. The contribution of the Altar Guild can be traced back to the very earliest time in the history of Christianity.
Christian Formation Teachers teach Sunday School classes to children, youth and adults. Materials and training are provided.
Hosts and Greeters welcome people into our church and help make St. David's an inviting place to come.
Lay Readers during the church service assist the priest by reading passages from the Bible and leading the congregation in prayers. A lay reader's license is issued after training is completed.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers are trained and licensed to take holy communion to those who are not able to come to the church.
Music comes in many forms at St David's. We have a singing choir as well as a bell choir. All levels of expertise are welcome.
Oblationers carry the elements for holy communion to the altar rail during the service.
Ushers meet worshippers at the door, hand them a worship bulletin, and help them find a seat. Our ushers meet you with a smile and are a source of St. David's famous hospitality.
