AGAPE MINISTRY
Agape provides assistance to needy families and homeless people in 7 northeast San Antonio zip codes: 78209, 78217, 78218, 78219, 78233, 78239 and 78244. Twenty-seven churches in this area support this ministry.

St. David’s provides financial, food and clothing support throughout the year. Donations can be placed in the basket in the Narthex or in the red cabinet at the end of the hall.  St. David's volunteers take those donations to Agape.

New volunteers are always needed. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to visit Agape at 127 Lanark. Hours are 10:00 – 12:00 and 2:00 – 4:00, Monday – Friday. For more information, call the Executive Director at 590-6655 or return the form below indicating your interest in this ministry.

Cookies for Soldiers
Cookies are made and delivered to the church by faithful bakers each week and taken to BAMC or the Wounded Warrior Center on Fort Sam by Jean Heard.  There is a constant demand for more cookies, so bakers are always needed.

EXCEPTIONAL ADULTS MINISTRY: Worship, Bowling
During the school year the Exceptional Adults meet on Saturdays at St. David's at 10:30 a.m. for fellowship and worship. They are then transported to Ft. Sam Houston bowling alley for lunch and 3 games of bowling.  The day concludes at 2:45 p.m. and the participants are picked up at Ft. Sam Houston by 3:00 p.m.  We are grateful to Suzan Reagor for leading this ministry, and she is always in need of volunteers.  This is a great way to exercise and have a good time.

Good Samaritan Community Services
Each year St. David's reaches out to Good Samaritan Community Services in San Antonio in a variety of ways.  All funds raised through Lenten Bread Sales are sent to Good Samaritan for the after school program for the children. St. David's participates in the back to school program for the children of Good Samaritan Community Services by providing boxes of crayons, bottles of glue, glue sticks, pens, pencils and rulers
. We have an Angel Tree at Christmas to collect one clothing gift and one toy for 25 children who might otherwise not receive gifts.  In addition, we collect Christmas dinner food bags for families of Good Samaritan Center.  For information about Good Samaritan Community Services talk to Carrie Steele, St. David's representative.

During the month of October, we will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items to donate to Agape.  Please bring to the church.
St. David's donated over $300.00 worth of groceries for Christmas baskets disbributed by the Good Samaritan Services Center.
MEALS ON WHEELS
Over the years, we have had a large number of people performing this service. The Christian Senior Services prepares the meals at their headquarters and they deliver them to our kitchen along with instructions.  Our volunteers arrive at about 11:00 AM to pick up their deliveries. Deliveries usually take 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

We have had such a wonderful group of “Angels” who have helped with this service and without exception, they will tell you how much it means to them. It is such a needed service and so appreciated- a true Godly outreach.
