Music at St. David's
Dear St. David’s Community,
My name is Will Jeys, and it is a privilege and a joy to greet you as the new Director of Music Ministry here at St. David’s! I am delighted to be joining this vibrant and faithful congregation.
I was born and raised in Manchester, England, and my musical journey began early, eventually leading me to study at the University of Oxford. Over the years, I have worked with ensembles and choirs throughout the UK and abroad as a conductor, singer, and organist, including roles at several prominent English cathedrals. I bring with me plentiful experience in the English Anglican choral tradition, which dates back 500+ years, and a passion for celebrating music in worship.
As I step into this new chapter at St. David’s, my aim is to cultivate a music ministry that promotes musical excellence with a welcoming spirit. I hope to strengthen the church’s choral life, encourage participation from all ages, explore a broad and exciting repertoire, and offer music which enriches our worship and brings us all closer to God.
In the coming months, I look forward very much to meeting all of you, hearing your stories, and learning about what you cherish here at St. David’s. I warmly invite anyone with an interest in singing, playing, or simply supporting the music ministry to get involved. There is most certainly a place for everyone! If you would like to get in touch, please direct your emails to [email protected].
Thank you for your generous welcome so far. I am beyond excited to get started!
In the words of St. Augustine, "He who sings, prays twice."
Regards,
Will
